Higher Praise is a  gospel quartet that sings with live music and sound tracks. Their style of music is Southern, Country and Contemporary. We are available for concerts, revivals, banquets, fund raisers, camp meetings, special services and homecomings. We also minister through the Word of God.

We desire worship experiences that bring others into the very presence of the Lord, thereby allowing a profound opportunity for the Holy Spirit to touch souls, heal hearts, break the chains of bondage and ignite a passion for Jesus and the work of His Kingdom. ‘Others’ includes not only our body of believers within Higher Praise, but we are also looking outward with a heart to gather those ‘unconvinced’ around us (neighbors, friends, work associates, etc.) to point them to the life-giving knowledge and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ that we enjoy. ‘Others’ also embraces the value that we within Higher Praise are just a part of God’s greater Church and we strive to have God get all the glory, not us.

… living a life of faith, i.e. calling… We recognize the importance and divine nature of calling in each of our lives. All believers are called to be worshipers of the Lord and we are called to serve in the Body of Christ. We embrace His hope and direction, and seek the Lord about our own personal calling. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

Ephesians 1:18-19

… competence… We serve the body with our gifts and talents and we strive to improve ourselves as musicians and technicians in order to bless the Lord with our very best; not for our glory, but for His. “And the men did the work faithfully with foremen over them to supervise… all who were skillful with musical instruments” 2Chronicles 34:12. “And their number who were trained in singing to the Lord…all who were skillful.” 1 Chronicles 25:7 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Col. 3:17.

… and character… Integration (integrity) of character with the principles and values of the Christian life are critical to serving as ministers of worship. Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will do it. And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.

 Psalm 37:3-6 (see also 1 Pet. 1:15-16).

… as we worship the Lord in humility… This is a very public ministry that is under submission to the Lord and to the authority He has placed over us. We are a community united by our service to the Lord and we are intent on living out Philippians 2:2-7 Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a bond-servant and being made in the likeness of men.

… intimacy… The ultimate goal of worship is intimacy with God. We seek His presence. It is one of the greatest mysteries of the Father’s boundless grace that God, the Creator of all, makes Himself accessible through His Son, Jesus so that we can have relationship with Him.   …Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders. Deuteronomy 33:12 He has brought me to his banqueting table and his banner over me is love. Sustain me with raisin cakes; refresh me with apples because I am lovesick. Let his left hand be under my head and his right hand embrace me.

Song of Solomon 2:4-6

…and passion… Without it we are only doing some kind of intellectual exercise. God made us with a mind, emotions and a will. He desires us to come to Him with our whole selves offered as living sacrifices as our act of worship to Him. It is passion that drives us, that keeps us running the race with endurance. My heart is steadfast, O God. I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul. Awake, harp and lyre; I will awaken the dawn! I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; and I will sing praises to You among the nations.

Psalm 108:1-3
